A clock is a symbol of orderly living and an influential tool for planning and carrying out work and activities. In some countries around the world, clocks are decorated in luxurious designs made from precious metals and gemstones, incorporating national symbols, and adorned with representations of the 12 animals. Among Mongolians, there are times when one begins an important task at an auspicious time. Astrology holds that such a task is influenced by good fortune and its progress becomes very perfect. For example, activities such as building, joining, and cutting a child’s first hair are always started by honoring an auspicious time. A person can identify a favorable partner through astrology. It was crafted with 22 grams of gold plating, 2,250 grams of silver repoussé, and decorated with garnet, jade, and green jade gemstones.
